Yes, and No. It depends on what functionality your mobile phone has, remote controls in general use a technology called infrared (IR) to communicate with the AC unit. The AC has an IR sensor that receives commands from the IR LED (also called IR blaster) in your remote control. Only mobile phones that have a built in IR blaster can be used as a remote control to various devices including AC units.
